The Taliban are using whips to stop women’s protests

On Tuesday, the Taliban announced the formation of an interim government. The Taliban used whips and sticks on the women during the protest on Wednesday, CNN reported.
CNN has collected several pictures and videos of the protest. In the videos, the protesting women are chanting slogans like ‘Long live Afghan women’. Some protested with placards reading “No government can deny the presence of women” and “I will sing the song of freedom again and again.”
One woman who took part in the protest on Wednesday said, “We have gathered here as there are no women in the newly announced government.”
