Iran issues arrest warrant against Trump

Iran has issued an arrest warrant for US President Donald Trump for the assassination of General Qasem Solaimani, the top commander of the Al Quds Force.

Tehran has asked for Interpol’s help in apprehending Trump and several others involved in the drone strike in Baghdad. News Al Jazeera.

On Monday, Iranian prosecutor Ali al-Qasim said Iran blamed 30 people, including Trump, for the January 3 attack that killed General Qasim Solaimani.

Although he did not name anyone other than Trump, he said Tehran would continue to make regular efforts to bring him to justice once the US president’s term expires.

Iran’s semi-official IRNA news agency quoted Isna al-Qasim as saying that Tehran had requested a “red notice” against Trump and others.

This is the highest request for an Interpol arrest. No country can force the arrest or extradition of a suspect as a result of this Red Notice. However, the government can restrict the travel of suspects if it wants.

Qasim Solaimani, commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards killed in the US attack, was one of Iran’s most popular figures. And he was considered the greatest enemy of America and its allies.

The U.S. military says a car bomb had exploded at an Iraqi police recruiting center at Kisak, west of Baghdad.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a crowd of protesters, killing at least 10 people and wounding dozens more.
